LADIES DAY centres around four female fish packers, who encouraged by their male supervisor, find themselves enjoying an exhilarating day at the races. During the course of the day they come into contact with five men; a ticket tout, a TV pundit, an Irish jockey, a gambler, and a bookie. The script indicates all six males being played by one actor. This presents an excellent opportunity for one person, but the director is open to these characters being split between more actors. The ladies range between mid-twenties to mid-fifties, however, age is immaterial as characterisation is the important role ingredient, and a key acting task is to exhibit the rapport between the ladies.
Performances each weeknight from 7.30pm, Saturday 2.30pm & 7.30pm
