Exmouth A Cappella present An Evening of Musical Entertainment with special guest, John Burgoyne, Tenor, at The Blackmore Theatre, Exmouth, on the 2nd May 2020 at 7.30pm.

Who Are We?

Recently we have changed our name from Renaissance Ladies Acappella Chorus to Exmouth A Cappella because we felt that the new name gave more of a taste of who we are.

To kickstart our new name we are holding a concert at the Blackmore Theatre, Exmouth, on the date and at the time above.  There will be singing by the Chorus and also some other entertainment to show our versatility within the chorus.

Exmouth A Cappella

The Chorus started 15 years ago by one of our current MD’s Kay Richards and her sister Maire Hoppins.  Sadly, Maire had to retire a few years ago and Kay stepped in to lead the Chorus but recently we have had a Deputy MD joins us, Val Harvey.  She is a very welcome addition to our chorus.

We are a competing and performing women’s a cappella chorus who meet every Tuesday evening at 7.30 at Christ Church Hall, North Street, Exmouth, EX8 1JZ (opposite Exmouth Police Station). We sing unaccompanied in four-part harmony, using just our voices to create the music. If you are interested in joining us, but don’t have the ability to read music, don’t worry. We supply teaching CDs and sheet music and all our members are very encouraging and supportive. All we ask is a weekly commitment from you and an ability to hold a tune.

We sing many genres of music including songs from the 40’s to almost current day. We all love to sing and hopefully you will see this in our performance.

To date we have performed or competed in many various places such as Jersey, Ireland, Menin Gate and Dinan, our twin French town. We have also competed in the UK also in Bournemouth, Cheltenham, Torquay, Taunton and Exeter.

We are also due to go to Caerphilly in Wales to join the Welsh ladies’ choir for a return joint concert.

If you feel like you would like to come along to see if you would like to join us, we would be very happy.
